I found myself at one point a few months ago always setting up engagement photos in the usual locations and in the daytime. My new thing is to ask “why not ?”. Why do things the way that it’s supposed to be done? Who says that you have to shoot photos during the daytime in a park all of the time?
I’ve decided that if something isn’t the norm that probably means that I should try it at least once.
Well, I’m trying so, don’t quote me on my new philosophy yet.
Jamie and Rasheem have a wedding coming up next year and we weren’t available to shoot it, but they asked me about doing their engagement pics. When they came in to see me I pitched my idea of doing a nighttime engagement shoot in Albany. They loved the idea so we picked a day and I figured out a time right around sunset to get started.
I always say that the Capital District has some of the best places for taking photos. I’ve found that more specifically downtown Albany is great for nighttime shots.
Sure…..why not?
Will they ever finish the work on that building in the background? (Albany people know what I’m talking about)
At night you can catch some nice colors from the street lights downtown.
These guys were great and fun to work with. I wish them the best and I hope they have a great wedding day!
