Vanessa’s Maternity Portraits

I have to say weddings keep us pretty busy, so I don’t get to do as many maternity portrait sessions as I would like to. Maybe, we’ll find a way to focus on them a little more in 2012 because they’re actually pretty cool.

Bride and Grooms trust us to capture the most important day of their lives and I feel really honored to be a part of that. But, with maternity photos I get to capture another really important moment in a couple’s life. Besides weddings I never see so much joy in woman’s eyes than we she talks about bearing a child. Oh yeah…it’s definitely an honor to be a part of that.

Well, this photo blog entry is a little special to me for two reasons:

Reason #1 – Back in June 2009 I was the Photographer Vanessa & Archy’s wedding in Albany (as you can see in the photo below). Like a few people that I’ve done photography for; we’ve stayed in contact and even hung out a little since the wedding. So, earlier this year I was happy to hear that they were having their first kid…NICE! I was also happy when they asked me to shoot their maternity portraits.

Reason#2 – Almost two weeks ago on September 21st their new daughter Afeah was born. A little more than a week after we did their maternity pics….we just made it. I have no photos of Afeah to show, but maybe that session will be next….hint, hint.

Till then check out our happy couple below from last months session. Stuff like this makes me enjoy this business.
