I love being a Wedding Photographer but I’m enjoying this wedding-free time so that we can catch up on some photo editing and of course blogging. Also, I’ve been making some improvements to our work-flow so we should be more efficient this year (and maybe get a little more sleep). After this wedding we have two more weddings from the month of December to put up. By that time we will be getting ready to go back in action with some February weddings.
Renee and Jason loved the idea of doing Engagement photos close to home in Schenectady. I liked the idea too and I thought it would be pretty cool to do a night session downtown (check it out here). This was a great prep session since their wedding ceremony was going to be at St. John’s Church in Schenectady and the plan was to go downtown for their wedding formals. The Reception was at Siver Hills in Guilderland which is a great place but for nighttime photos, downtown Schenectady just made more sense.
I used to not really like the idea of doing a couple’s engagement photos and wedding photos in the same place, but it works sometimes and well…why not?
I thought it was really nice to hear that Renee’s wedding dress belonged to her grandmother….

Our friends at Lipstick N Lashes Boutique did a great job as usual
St. John’s is definitely one of my favorite church’s to shoot at in the Capital District!

So, Renee and Jason were another brave couple that braved the cold last month for wedding photos…they were great and I don’t think you can tell that they were freezing!
My favorite of the night!
Before we left for the night the bride gave us jars of homemade jam to take home. It was really good stuff.
This cake-topper goes on my list of favorite cake-toppers of the year (reminiscing to playing Mario Bros for hours as a kid).
Gotta love the kids!

I loved the pictures and it was great to see the dress cleaned after I did the alterations!
