Amanda & Ricci's Engagement Session at Birchaven Campground on Sacandaga Lake
When Amanda and Ricci invited us to capture their engagement session at Birchaven Campground, nestled along the serene shores of Sacandaga Lake, we knew we were in for something magical. The location is one of those hidden gems where the Adirondack pines meet golden sand, and the lake mirrors the sky.
We met in the late afternoon as the sun began its slow descent, bathing the campground in dreamy, honeyed light. This is our favorite time to shoot for engagement sessions—golden hour. The low sun paints everything with a soft, ethereal glow, and Amanda and Ricci were absolutely radiant. Their laughter echoed through the pines as they explored the shoreline. We stepped back, letting them forget about the camera, and the magic happened—their personalities and connection shining through each shot.
The grand finale, though, was the sunset. Sacandaga Lake is known for its vibrant, watercolor skies, and that evening did not disappoint. As the sun slipped behind the distant hills, the sky erupted in shades of peach mixed with gold and dark blue with a peak of lavender. We asked Amanda and Ricci to stand at the water’s edge, silhouetted against the glowing horizon. The result was pure poetry: two figures, perfectly in love, framed by nature’s masterpiece.
There’s something special about engagement sessions like this—where the location, the light, and the couple come together in perfect harmony. Birchaven Campground is now forever a part of Amanda and Ricci’s love story, and we feel lucky to have been there to witness it all, camera in hand.
