So, we are only the second month into the year and I already broke my main resolution for the year. That resolution was to post photo-blogs from weddings a few days after the wedding and well…It’s been over two weeks since we shot this wedding.  OK, It’s still early in the year and I’ll do better next time.

I was so excited to shoot this wedding after having an almost two month winter hiatus. You know like the way you felt on that first day back to school and you had your new clothes laid out the night before? I really gained a deeper love for wedding photography when I went through December and part of January with no weddings to shoot.

I met Christina and Christian (Chris x’s 2) almost a year ago to talk about their wedding plans for January 15th at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia, NY (around Schenectady). They also wanted engagement photos (their engagement photos blog-post can be seen here).  As their wedding day approached I realized that we were going to have the cold and snow to deal with in the Albany area. If I learned anything with wedding photography is that every wedding day can’t be warm with clear skies. So, we adapt and embrace the cold (brrrr..) and the snow and let them work for us.

Enough of this snow talk….Here’s a trip down memory lane when we could go outside and actually feel our fingers. This is a shot from Christina and Christian’s Engagement Photo Session last summer. Ahhhh… I feel warmer already.

Back to today’s wedding blog stuff…

The United Snowmen 2011…This kid was a lot of fun…I can’t pose a shot like this!

This was a tough shot to get and keep the dress clean before the wedding but it worked out

Chris and Christina’s wedding ceremony was at St John’s Church in Schenectady, probably the most impressive catholic church that I have ever shot at in the Capitol District…

Their reception was at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia..these next shots were done right out front of the building. If not for the snow we would have did most of the formal photos in the back which is even nicer.

This was definitely the most popular of the bunch on facebook! Oh, again if you haven’t already “like” us at www.facebook.com/dexphotos

Great looking panini sandwiches at Glen Sanders…I had to go in for a close look

“Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting!…HA!!”

I love to see people having fun at receptions

There’s the Music Man himself Mike Garrasi..

For literally the last photo of the night I knew I wanted to get a shot of Glen Sanders, so to do something different I decided to get the side of the building at night…That’s all for now, thanks for checking us out. Comments are always appreciated and as always go to www.dexphotos.com for more!
