Once or twice a year we get to take a road trip up north to capture wedding photos in Lake Placid. It’s pretty exciting to take a break from Albany and shoot somewhere different and not to mention, these carpool trips are usually a fun and crazy time for my team and me. The road trip conversations get weird (some things are just t.m.i.) and we see interesting things like nutty people walking on frozen lakes on the side of the highway. All of this amounts to good times and we were happy that Sabra & Mikel asked us to be a part of their amazing wedding at Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid.
When I’m outside shooting in 30 degree weather, I tell everyone to think warm thoughts but they usually look at me like I’m crazy for some reason. But, our Bride and Groom braved the cold mountain air for their “first look” and posed photos while smiling and laughing together (maybe that was a sign of frost bite setting in…hmm). Sabra & Mikel ended the night with a great reception that included great moments with their friends and family, our Photo Booth, a circle dance and lots of confetti!
