Many times when people find out that I’m a Wedding Photographer they ask “are that many people still getting married out there?”. I think that many people ask me that because we hear so many negative things about marriage that people have lost confidence in the worlds oldest institution. I’m not even going to start to talk about the staggering statistics of how many couples don’t make it…so I understand the failing confidence.

But…wait… there are many couples that last past 10…25 and even 50 years plus. I’m amazed when they do the anniversary dance at some receptions that there are couples that despite statistics have stayed together for a really long time (like that Al Green song).

Lady Emma and Pastor Vincent Teague are just one of those couples. They celebrated their 25th (silver) wedding anniversary a month ago and they celebrated it in style. I had the pleasure of helping them to document their day as they renewed their vows. I hope that I’ll be there when they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Just a little side fact…I shot this portrait of them in my studio in Albany last year and thanks to their friends and family it has easily become the most popular photo that I ever put up on facebook…I mean ever. Pretty cool…

I started the day with our couple at the Rose Garden in Schenectady for some formal photos before we headed to Michael’s Banquet House in Latham for a quick ceremony and a very uplifting reception.
