If you followed this blog last winter you would know that I dealt with a Wedding Photographer’s worst nightmare last winter…..two months (mid November thru mid January) with no weddings. Yes, I survived but it was rough not shooting for a while. I was anxious to at least shoot an engagement session, but not too many people wanted to put on their boots and drive through the snow to take photos….go figure. So, I waited…and waited…and waited, then finally we got a taste of Spring and had a nice day out. Heather and Jesse were anxious to do their engagement session and so I quickly dusted off my camera and met them in Albany for their e-session. Since then weddings and engagement sessions have been non-stop but I just wanted to take that little trip down memory lane for a minute.
There’s one of my favorites from that session below. You can go here to check that blog out.
So, now it was time for Heather and Jesse’s big wedding day. I was anxious to see what they had planned because from getting to know them a little I realized that they weren’t afraid to think outside the box and do things differently.
As soon as I got to the bridal suite I realized I was right about them doing things differently…I saw the black wedding dress! The funny thing is that a few days before this wedding I had a conversation with my Assistant Editor and I told him that in the thirteen years of shooting weddings I never seen a bride wear one. What are the odds of that happening? Was I having one of those premonitions? Maybe a “Ms. Cleo” moment?….hmmmm
Well, anyway…I thought the dress was pretty cool. When I think I’ve seen it all when it comes to weddings, I’m happy to see something different.
The wedding and reception was right in heart of Albany at the Corning Tower at Empire Plaza. As I’ve said before, Albany is a great place for wedding photography and we had a great time capturing Heather and Jesse’s day.
Congrats Heather & Jesse!

Here’s our groom waiting to do a “first look” with his bride…
Sunset photos are great at Empire Plaza…
I really liked this one…if you liked it please “like” it below or share it!
